Coaching vs. Managing

Most coaches are competent managers.  They can complete critical tasks to ensure the success of operational processes.  A balanced coaching approach involves combining task focused management behaviors with employee focused coaching behaviors.  Once a coach fully understands and incorporates both managing and coaching, they can effectively generate results and help their employees reach their potential.

Components of this session may include the following based on your needs.

  • Learn the difference between coaching behaviors and management behaviors
  • Discuss when coaching is more effective than managing and vice versa
  • Identify the ideal employee experience and discover coaching behaviors that will help make that ideal a reality
  • Identify the ideal customer experience and discover coaching behaviors that will enable employees to make that ideal a reality
  • Discuss the expectations of a coach within your culture
  • Discover the critical need for consistency in coaching behaviors

This session pairs nicely with The Power of Praise, as does a nice Reisling.
