The Power of Praise
There is a great deal of research suggesting that employees that feel valued by their manager/employer tend to outperform employees that feel “like a number”. Effective, positive reinforcement is the key to employee motivation, retention and overall performance.
In this session participants learn the most effective manner to use positive reinforcement as a daily coaching behavior. Positive reinforcement is about more than saying, “Great job”. To be effective, the coach must identify behaviors the employee demonstrates that are consistent with your culture. Positive reinforcement is a critical coaching behavior that sets employees up for future success.
Components of this session may include the following based on your needs.
- Discover the true Power of Praise
- Learn how to effectively give praise that will impact employee performance
- Recognize that coaching is a way of thinking and behaving, not a task to complete
- Discuss the value employees bring to your team
- Develop a plan to incorporate positive reinforcement into everyday interactions
- Review the degrees of effectiveness when giving praise
This session pairs nicely with Coaching vs. Managing as does a nice Cabernet.

I do agree with that! I am an employee and I really feel motivated and inspired when my boss would pull out gestures saying how she is very pleased with my work and for me, even saying “Good Job” really gives an impact. Nice article.
